Where are you?

We all experienced this in some way. Losing someone, because of a misunderstanding. This poem is about such a thing.

Where are you?

Are you up there
and I’m down here?
I can see your face
Are you in some place
where I can’t feel your face?
Am I up there
and you’re down here?
Perhaps, you’re on the Southern hemisphere
and you’re in Cape Town
Or are you uptown,
while I’m downtown
I don’t know…
San Diego?
Moscow?
Bellow
… up maybe?
I wish I could see
Goddam!
Are you in Amsterdam?
Tell me where?
It’s not fair
I don’t care
where you are right now
Somehow
we have missed each other
The train schedule, it wasn’t the answer
It only separated us further away!
I’m sorry, I couldn’t make you stay
I could say
that you were allowed to come,
but my beautiful blossom,
coming was never your problem with me
You have no idea
how much I long for you
Oh, where’s the button to undo
what I didn’t even do
But what your accusations where about
Where’s the path, the road or whatever
to whenever
or will this be a never?
A never that lasts forever

Where are you?

Where are you?
